Gold Beach - 60 Years On

Fiona Harrison

Fiona Harrison performed a free concert in the centre of Ver sur Mer on the evening of Saturday 5th June 2004. Here's what a reviewer had to say about her show.

"The scene is set in 1943; the curtain opens at Stanbridge Railway Station in Bedfordshire. Lance Corporal Wendy Harrison arrives, awaiting a train carrying motor cycle spares, only to find out from Sergeant Spence of the "Home Guard" that the rail is blocked due to debris further up the line.

Fiona also performed a joint concert with Aline from "LilysJazz" on the Saturday evening of 5th June 2009 during the 2009 camp. I'd love to add some pictures, but the concert hall was so full that i couldn't get in!

To pass the time, Wendy begins to practice her singing scales, as she needs to practice for a show that evening. Although she is on her own, Wendy becomes aware of another voice. Puzzled Wendy walks over to an old bicycle but it's not the bike that talks!...

Performing in authentic ATS uniform, Fiona Harrison takes her audience down 'memory lane' with the nostalgic music of the 1940s. Many of the hit songs from this period are included, songs made famous by Gracie Fields, Vera Lynn, The Andrews Sisters and others. "

Fiona Harrison "We'll Meet Again" is a self-contained show, packed with 'high-tech', carefully chosen nostalgia. It is performed in 2 x 45 minute sets with a short interval and simple scene change. The show has been created and assembled by individual experts in their own fields, using only the best technologists available. The result is a superb production of sound effects and musical arrangements.
